Just in case I didn’t convince you in my previous post on this topic, here are the top ten reasons why books make the best presents:

  1. The bookstore and publishing industry can use your help.
  2. No sizing issues.
  3. Recipients are not expected to display the book on the mantel for all eternity.
  4. Liberal return policies at most bookstores.
  5. While you are shopping for these books, you are almost certain to find some wonderful choices for yourself.
  6. Parents really need high quality bedtime stories.
  7. Books can be a wonderful escape should a person find him or herself in an unpleasant situation.
  8. Books can actually be useful.  For example, everyone should have a cookbook, a dictionary, and the spiritual book of their choice.
  9. The right book at the right time can transform a life (including, but not limited to, the spiritual ones).
  10. But the best reason to buy books for the holidays is that a shared book is a beautiful connection with someone you care about.

Happy Reading (and Shopping),

The Book Goddess
