Do you suffer from Drab Desk Syndrome? Does your cubicle fail to express your personality or inner self? Are you discouraged when you walk into your office space, and not just by the impending assignments?
Well, if so, I have a book for you! Cube Chic by Kelley L. Moore is appropriately subtitled, “Take Your Office Space from DRAB to FAB!” and she has 22 striking examples (with instructions and resources) to prove that you can do it.
Truly, everyone has different taste, but my two top picks would be the “Cubist Cube” – a shrine to colorful modern art with an abstract Ikea rug; and the “India Cube” – beautiful red and gold draped fabric, Indian artifacts and a photo of the Taj Mahal.
Most of us spend at least 40 hours a week in our work environment, and few jobs are stressless. I say, create your own little world that raises your spirits!
Happy Cubing!
